Morning Routine

Morning Routine - @lorenzomitil

Its Sunday and I'm awake at 7:45am. The windows are open, and I feel the autumn breeze coming through the window. Ah, mornings.

I lay here peacefully for five or so minutes and grab my computer. I check my emails, read a few news headlines and immediately start planning my day by making a list. For as long as I can remember, I've always made lists for everything. Lists help keep me active and stop me from procrastinating. They're not finite so you can always add or take away. Especially when life throws you curves balls and you need to take a new direction. I make mine for the day and get ready.

NYFW Street Style Pictures + What I've Learned

Fashion Week is exciting - from the clothes to the music and the events. I've always wanted to shoot street style pictures at Fashion Week, so after the shows/events, I took my camera out and gave it try.

All of the photos below were taken with Ilford HP5.

What I've learned from Fashion Week...

Get to the events early - Getting to the events early gives you time to look around and find an ideal spot to wait. Always look for backgrounds that aren't too distracting or objects that take away from the finished photo.

What to look for -  Look for trends, styles, or patterns.

Network - When I get invited to events or shows I make it a point to build new relationships and maintain relationships with people I've already met. You'll be surprised how many new connections you can make in a brief amount of time.

Light - When shooting street style it's important to understand where lighting is coming from and how it's going to shine or reflect on the subject you are photographing.  Don't be afraid to move around and try different angles.
